Why are Dorinha Jeans Wear™ so successful? The sizzling fusion of sex appeal, fashion, quality and comfort have put Dorinha Jeans Wear™ on the designer jeanswear map. Dorinha (pronounced Dor-rin-ya), designer of the Dorinha Jeans Wear™ label, says she wanted to bring some of the passion, excitement and sensuality of her native Brazil to Canada. The result is a Latino inspired collection of jeanswear clothing, reflecting the people, flavours, colours and vibrant culture of Brazil, matched with the high quality and comfort expected from a top designer brand.

Dorinha maintains strong links with her Brazilian origins and is very conscious to ensure that all her clothing is manufactured in a manner that meets her strong ethical values. Unlike a lot of other brands that use unregulated factories in China and other parts of South East Asia, Dorinha pays regular visits to her manufacturer's premises in Brazil and takes time to meet and greet those staff at the heart of her clothing production to help ensure their well-being and fair treatment.

Born on a farm in the rugged North-East of Brazil, Dorinha, the youngest in a family of 16, lost six siblings to the harsh environment of her childhood. Cotton was one of the crops grown on her father's farm and it appears no coincidence that her jeans are manufactured from Brazilian grown cotton. Leaving the mountains behind her, Dorinha eventually travelled south east to live with her brother in Sao Paulo. It was here, whilst working for a paper product company that provided a large clothing retailer with bags, that Dorinha's interest in fashion began. Her dream? To have her own brand of fashion wear named after her.

Dorinha first came to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in 1992 to learn English, and quickly fell in love with the city. She moved to Vancouver for good in 1995 and soon became active in the city's booming film and television industry. With a burning desire to create her own jeanswear brand, it was during a trip to Brazil in the autumn of 2000, that she sketched her first pair of jeans. Whilst still in Brazil, her very first sample was sewn by her sister-in-law, a dressmaker in Sao Paulo. Her dream was fast becoming a reality and the next few months would see her ideas fashioned into the definitive style of jeans we can see today - The one inch zipper was born.

In a little under three months after returning to Canada from her trip to Brazil in 2000, she had created and marketed her first designs, found a manufacturer in Sao Paulo and formed her own company with business partner (and husband) Dale Reynolds. Today, Dorinha continues to keep her dream alive, working long hours to create stunning, vibrant and unique pieces of designer jeanswear for everyone to enjoy.
